Applying for Creditbuilder
To get started with Creditbuilder, you need to have a Business Extra or Activeplus Account with an activated card and no outstanding fees.
How to apply
- Head to Online Banking or open the app and log in to your account
- From the home screen, swipe right and you’ll see the Creditbuilder offer and select ‘sign up’.
- Follow the instructions and agree to the Creditbuilder terms to activate it.
We'll send you an email with all the details of your Creditbuilder agreement plus information on how to make and track your monthly payments.
If you don't have a Zempler Bank account, you can apply online or in app and add Creditbuilder along the way.
FAQs
If you already have an account, your first payment will be on the same date as your current monthly account payment.
If you've recently opened an account, your payments will start one month after you activate your card.
We'll send you an email confirming your start date and all the other information you need to know. You can check your Creditbuilder progress any time via Online Banking or in app.
Building a good credit history takes time. Creditbuilder lasts 12 months and it can take at least 3 months to see any change in your credit score.
The biggest improvement should happen after all 12 payments are made on time, as we report your Creditbuilder as 'settled in full' to credit reference agencies.
Remember, how you manage any other credit (credit cards, loans etc) over this time will also impact your score.
We debit your payments monthly direct from your Zempler Bank account, so it's important to make sure you have the funds in your account before the payment date.
There are a couple of ways you can pay in to your Zempler Bank account:- Deposit cash over the counter at any UK Post Office.
- Transfer funds from another bank account – you’ll need your Account Number and Sort Code which can be found on the front of your card, in Online Banking or the Zempler Bank app
Remember, your Creditbuilder payment and monthly account fee payment are the same thing.
