Accept contactless card payments in the Zempler app

Are you looking for a way to accept payments from customers without the extra hardware? We’ve teamed up with Stripe, a global payment processing company, to enable Zempler business customers to accept contactless payments directly through the Zempler app.

This feature turns your smartphone into a payment terminal, allowing customers to pay using their contactless cards or mobile wallets like Apple Pay and Google Pay.

Whether you're a market vendor, or local tradesperson like a plumber or electrician, Stripe’s Tap to Pay helps you get paid quickly and securely - without the need for card readers or complex setups.

What you’ll need to use Stripe’s Tap to Pay

1. A Zempler business account and the Zempler Bank app

2. A compatible device:

  • iPhone XS (2018) or newer with iOS 16.7+
  • Android 11+ (2020) with NFC technology enabled

3. A Stripe account. We’ll redirect you to Stripe within the app to set this up and sync with your Zempler account

4. Your business must be registered in the UK.

How to start accepting payments

  1. Log in to the Zempler app and go to Pay > Get paid > Take a card payment.
  2. You’ll be redirected to Stripe within the app, to complete set up.
  3. Once Stripe has been linked with your Zempler account, you can take your first contactless payment. Enter the payment amount and prompt the customer to tap their card or device.
  4. The payment will load and show as ‘Done’. It may ask the customer to enter a PIN if the amount is above £100.
  5. On the ‘Payment complete’ page, you’ll have the option to share a receipt  with your customer.
  6. Payouts to your Zempler account are set to be processed automatically (minimum amount £1). Your waiting period for your first payout from Stripe is typically seven working days (up to 14). For subsequent payments, you should receive the money within three working days.
