Step-by-step application process

Applying for a Zempler Bank account is simple.

  1. Check you’re eligible to apply

    To open a business bank account, you’ll need to:

    • be 18+
    • have your business based in the UK
    • have an active and up to date accounts status with Companies House
    • operate in a supported industry. Here are industries we don’t support
    • meet the eligibility requirements if you’re a corporate shareholder or have Persons of Significant Control (PSCs).

  2. Decide what account is best for you

    We offer three different business current accounts:

    Business Go: No monthly fee. Simple and secure banking that gets the job done.

    Business Extra: £9 monthly fee. Everything you get with Go plus banking built for payments - 0.5% cashback on card spend and 20 free payments and transfers a month.

    Business Pro: £19 monthly. The best of everything including 1% cashback, unlimited free payments and transfers and interest earning savings account.

  3. Tell us about your business

    To complete the application form we need to know a bit about your business, like what you do and where you’re based. 

    • For Limited Companies, we’ll pull your information through from Companies House. 
    • For Charities, Partnerships, Limited Liability Partnerships (LLPs) and Public Sector organisations, we’ll ask you to provide this information. 
    • For Sole Traders, we’ll only ask you to provide your home address.

    We’ll try to verify any personal or business name and address details with the information that you provide us during the application, and we’ll be in touch by email with any next steps. 

  4. Help us verify your identity

    If we can’t verify your identity and address details during the application, we’ll request documents from you to open your account.

  5. Download the app, activate your card and add money

    You’ll get your new business card in 3 to 5 working days. 

    Activate your card, request your PIN and your account is then ready to use.

  • Zempler business accounts are made for freelancers, sole traders, small, and growing businesses (including limited companies, partnerships and charities.)

  • You can see how quickly your  application is moving along by using our application status tracker. You’ll just need your ten digit application reference number that was emailed to you when you applied.

  • No. There are no credit checks to open an account.

    For our Business Extra and personal account Activeplus customers, we could help you improve or build your credit history at no extra cost by adding our CreditBuilder service to your account.
